The technology gap between India Post and HSBC (India) is more than 20 years. The last branch of SBI went live on the core banking (CB) platform in the year 2008. [2] The last departmental post office will go live on the core banking platform in 2014. There will still be a gap of six years. Reasons for Core Banking The need for core banking for Post Office Savings Bank (POSB) arises out of many reasons: 1.
