Assistant Postmaster, agent get upto 5 yrs jail term
An assistant postmaster and an 'agent' were awarded jail term for up to five years by a CBI court for allegedly using a false thumb impression to withdraw Rs 79,000 from a saving account of a woman eight years ago. CBI special judge A K Singh yesterday sentenced to four years imprisonment assistant post mortem Pramal Singh and slapped afine of Rs 10,000 on him. The court awarded a five-year jail term on agent Raj Kumar and imposed a fine of rupees 12000 on him for committing fraud in saving account of Angoori Devi and her husband Kuimud Gupta in 2003 in Saharanpur. Rs 79,000 was withdrawn from their saving account of the victims using false thumb impression of Devi. Both the accused were sent to Dasna jail.
