What is the difference between domains vs hosting vs website?
Internet has been part of
human life and it’s taking more and more
space in human lives day by day. We use internet for surfing many websites and
we frequently hear words like Domain , Web hosting and websites, but very few
of us are aware about actual meaning of these three words.
Today we will understand about these
two words by simplifying it’s definitions.
Now let’s answer a simple question. What we
do to call a person ? it’s a too simple, we just dial his/ her mobile number
and then we get connected. In the same way, when we try access any website, we
just enter URL in browser and we get website opened. In this simple process the
words “domain” , “web hosting” and “website” are included very deeply.
Now let’s understand each word separately.

to contact each other, Domain names on the internet are much like entries in a
phone book. When we wish to access any website, we need to enter domain name
and based on domain name, proper website will be accessed. For example www.mcapracticles.blogspot.com
is a name using this name we can access the website and that’s all about
domain.
The web-hosting or server is much
like the space that you rent out to have your business in. for example, if you
want to make a website then probably you need to store your all the information
like documents, images or contents somewhere on internet and that’s called the
webhosting server. Your website is stored in server along with domain name.
when user enters domain name on browser, particular website linked with that
domain becomes available soon.
The site files are what
your visitors and potential customers actually see when going to site such as
your products and services. Whatever we put on website like photo, sounds,
files , documents etc in web hosting servers to make it available in our
website are called site files.
